Privacy policy

SJMR Accounting is an offline desktop application for Windows. The company books, invoices, journals, stock, payroll and user passwords are stored on the main PC that runs the program. SJMR does not operate a cloud accounts service and does not require an internet connection to keep the books.

Data we do not collect

SJMR does not collect, store or share personal data with third parties. There is no SJMR account you sign into on the internet, no analytics tracker on this website, and no sale of customer lists. Office staff sign in to the program on your own network.

Google Drive backup

Google Drive backup is optional. It stays off until an administrator chooses Connect Google Drive and approves access in their own Google account.

If that backup is enabled, SJMR only accesses a dedicated folder named SJMR Backups, using the Google Drive drive.file scope. That scope lets the application create and read files it created. It cannot see or modify any other files in the user's Google Drive.

The backup on the PC is made first. A failed or disconnected Drive upload does not remove that local backup. Disconnecting Google Drive inside SJMR leaves copies already in Drive where they are. The Google refresh token is encrypted on the PC and is not written into the accounting backup file.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp sending is also optional and runs only on the main PC. It is used to send a document you already saved. It does not change invoices, journals, stock, VAT or balances.

This website

This website describes the software and this privacy policy. It does not ask you to create an account. The download button serves the Windows installer file you place with the site.
